It is amazing the difference a few years makes when getting an education in computers. When I received my degree from my local community college, there were only two specializations. You could either become an application specialist or a programmer. The application specialist degree was really considered a secretarial degree. If you wanted a degree that carried any weight, you had to get a programming degree.
Now, the community college offers several specializations. They have a specialization in hardware and software support for those wanting to become computer technicians. They have a networking degree for those wanting to build and run networks. The programming specialization still exists, but the choice of language has been expanded. In the past, we had Visual Basic, C++, and Cobol only.
Web Design is another new addition. A couple of courses focus on SEO optimization. I have a friend that received her degree in web design and got a job with a search engine optimization company as a webmaster after graduation.
I am glad to see the college expand its offerings. Currently, I am not in the IT field. I wound up in a completely different area. However, if I decide to return, I now have more options in revamping my skills.

I have never really understood the reason why someone would go through all of the trouble of going to school and completing a degree program without proudly displaying the diploma they earned. When I enter a friend or family member’s home I always glance around and look for the diploma on the wall. Sadly, I’ve noticed that many people aren’t displaying it these days. I can understand when people decide not to hang their high school diploma. I guess that I don’t really see graduating from high school is such a major accomplishment. To me, high school was the pretty easy and graduating was more of inevitability than an accomplishment. Now, graduating from college was much more of an accomplishment to me, as I was studying to get a degree while holding down a full time job. This took a great deal of sacrifice for me and my family.
I think that diploma framing is a perfect way to honor an accomplishment like this. I guess that putting the diploma in some type of special album would just as suffice, but I do enjoy walking by mine and being reminded that it has been completed and in a way it also helps me to remember that I can accomplish anything that I put my mind to. Many people buy specialized a college diploma frame. What you learn and experience in college should become a part of your life, but physically seeing the diploma is a reminder of the hard work and time that was put into the process.

I’ve worked as a call center consultant where I’ve had the opportunity to persuade customers to outsource inbound sales. As a consultant, I’ve found that it is in great interest to the business to look into these types of opportunities that allow for the reduction of employee costs. When I was a part of the inside sales consultants team, I got to work first hand with some of the outsourced sales companies. At first glance I could see the efficiency in operating sales offsite. You hardly ever need to give input to the team, other than stating your objective. The system really does seem to work for just about any business out there.
A business owner could really benefit from the low overhead costs. By choosing a company to maintain your sales force, you don’t need to pay high commission salaries to employees. You also reduce your headcount, and all the other types of insurances that are required to be a business owner. Maintaining a small environment is key to survival when the economy is poor. I’ve seen many businesses thrive when sales haven’t increased. These are the types of things business owners need to keep in mind when looking for opportunities to downsize their teams.

My name is Laura and I want to introduce you to my brand new website that helps you learn the basics of music composition. Music learning can be difficult to grasp if you are sitting in a classroom so I have decided to create my own interactive training website that will allow you to learn in a much more fun way! As a music student myself, I don’t know much about creating websites. I do, however, know how hard it can be to learn about music theory from a book. I used Dreamweaver website design to come up with my website.
I chose to go with this particular web page software because I heard about all the different Dreamweaver extensions I could add onto my site. If you join up, you’ll find there is a chat option where you can mingle with other students. There are online quizzes where you can test your musical know haws, and most importantly, there’s music! Through this program I was able to put on a music downloader so users can share their own music or simply their favorite bands with other people. It is easy to become bogged down when you are taking classes in music theory. My goal is to remind you of the reason you began to study music in the first place. It’s beautiful, important, essential to life and, most importantly, fun!
