Attending a Home Show

Though I thought the end of December this year would be the same as any year, I was pleasantly surprised that there was going to be a home show during the last week of the month. Seeing that we are in a small town, something like this is a big thing and an opportunity for us to get access to services and professionals that we usually don’t see in our little town. So, I knew that it would be something that I would have to attend.
I spent the better part of yesterday at the show looking at the many trade show booths that were setup. It seems that there were companies that were as far away as 300 miles looking for our business, so there were a large number of competitors in the room. Even though there was rivalry between these companies, you could tell one thing: they were there to cater to us customers.
During the time at the home show, I was on a mission: find a contractor that would drive out to our town to do my shingles. Normally, I would have looked for someone locally to help, but try as I might, no one really seemed interested in the work. Hopefully I will find someone willing to do the job today.
It looks like I might come visit the trade show exhibits for awhile today and maybe stop by later in the week. After today, I don’t think there will be anything that I haven’t seen already, but I’ll admit, it has been fun.
